At Beer Dermatology, we recognize that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a top priority across the county and with our patients. In response, we want to assure you that the health and safety of our patients, healthcare providers and staff are our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and like many others, are following the advice of the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health Services (DHS) to determine any adjustments that we may need to be taking regarding how we serve our patients.

At this time, our offices are open regular business hours.

Rest assured; we are taking extra infection control precautions above and beyond our normal meticulous manner. As an added measure, all exam rooms, and high-touch surfaces are being disinfected continuously. What Is Eczema?

Eczema, or atopic dermatitis, is a skin condition characterized by uncomfortable patches of dry, itchy skin that can become aggravated by scratching. The condition could be chronic (present for a long period of time) or acute (appearing suddenly with intense symptoms that worsen and spread). Eczema could also fall into one of the following categories:
  • Irritant Contact Dermatitis – Irritated skin caused by exposure to detergents and chemicals or through prolonged friction.
  • Allergic Contact Dermatitis – An allergic skin reaction resulting from certain substances, often nickel, rubber or fragrance.
  • Nummular Dermatitis – Round or oval patches of irritation that can last for months, especially following a burn, insect bite or abrasion.
  • Dyshidrotic Dermatitis – Small, itchy blisters that form on the hands and feet, particularly as a response to stress, allergies, or exposure to harsh chemicals.

Dr. Kenneth Beer
Dr. Kenneth Beer is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist focused on general, surgical and aesthetic dermatology. After obtaining his BS in Zoology from Duke University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he completed a residency and Fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Beer is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at University of Miami. Dr. Beer is the Founder of the Cosmetic Bootcamp program which trains doctors and PA’s enhancing their knowledge of cosmetic dermatology. He has decades of experience and specializes in facial rejuvenation.

Dr. Kerry Fike is a board-certified dermatologist and Harvard-trained physician. She has advanced dermatologic surgery training and active memberships in many dermatologic associations such as The American College of Mohs Surgery and specializes in non-melanoma skin cancer treatment using Mohs micrographic surgery.

Hillary Julius is a certified Physician Assistant who holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Science from Nova Southeastern University. She has been with Beer Dermatology for 12 years and her passions include dermatologic surgery and lasers. Ms. Julius also is a diplomate for the society of Dermatology Physician Assistants as well as a member of FAPA and AAPA.
