WHAT IS ROSACEA?

Isolaz Acne Treatments at Beer Dermatology in West Palm Beach, FL and Jupiter , FL

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition, characterized by skin inflammation that usually occurs in flare-ups followed by remissions. If left untreated, symptoms like redness, swelling, bumps and sores, can become more pronounced and persistent. Additional symptoms include:

  • Dry, rough or bumpy skin
  • Burning, tender skin
  • Skin thickening
  • Visible blood vessels
  • Irritated, bloodshot eyes

While there is no permanent cure for rosacea, it is possible to alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms and reduce flare-ups with proper treatment.

ROSACEA TREATMENT OPTIONS

The most common and reliable treatment options for rosacea consist of:

  • Pulsed Dye Lasers, as [Vbeam] and [IPL], can safely target rosacea using different wavelengths of light that causes the blood vessels to coagulate, triggering the body’s natural healing process. The results are gradual but natural, leading to a smoother, healthier complexion.
  • [Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)], which combines a topical solution with a blue or laser light to kill bacteria on the skin that contributes to rosacea and minimize redness.
  • Oral medications that work to kill bacteria and reduce inflammation.
  • Gentle topical products to soothe and strengthen the skin.
